What does the diploma involve? |
Students must attend all classes or make them up to successfully earn the Diploma in Project Management. There is a minimum requirement of sixty hours of class attendance spread over one year. To pass the course, the students need to complete six assignments to demonstrate their competence and partake a range of activities to establish and develop project management thinking and action in performance.
Assignment One; In our first assignment we will be developing a Project Management Plan, where the first elements of each of the units of competence are combined to make an integrated plan of how the project will be undertaken. Assignment Two; The second assignment is a Project Plan during the Implementation phase where alterations/adjustments have to be made because changes do happen as projects proceed. The art of managing change is by way of control processes outlined in the first assignment and the students put this into practice in Assignment Two. Assignment Three; For the third assignment the students will complete a Stage or Progress Report, where once again each unit of competence is reported on in an integrated manner to show progress and what problems are being encountered and what forecasts are likely. Assignment Four; Our fourth assignment is a Closure Report where all the units are once again integrated into a comprehensive statement of closure to ensure that all ends have been attended to from Certificate of Practical Completion to attending to warranties to covering outstanding risks. Assignment Five; The fifth assignment is an oral presentation where students demonstrate their deep understanding of principles and the adopted practices that they're applying in real life situations. Assignment Six; The final assignment is the completion of the workbook provided to the students, which provides evidence of underpinning knowledge and understanding and responsiveness to simulation exercises in the form of scenarios. |
Support services |
The teaching staff are available for students to contact, via phone and email, to discuss coursework and assignments at all sociable hours. These details are given to students when the course commences.
Classes do not usually exceed ten students and we provide two teachers at all times so that individual assistance can be given to get the best results for our students. Assignments are usually marked within a week and for the first two large assignments, students submit a full assignment in soft copy. These are marked using “track changes” and returned to the student. There is then a short time for the corrections or additions to be done prior to the final submissions which are printed and bound. |
